The Goal, The Vision, The Purpose

I’ve been struggling with just what it is I’m trying to do with this blog. Of course, I want to change the world! But that’s one of those self-important, ego driven ideas that can send me back to bed to eat cookies or popcorn.

I mean, what does ‘change the world’ mean? It means there’s a whole lot going on I don’t like. However, when I ask myself what would a world that works for all beings be like, I find I don’t have many answers. Some, like food, water, shelter, safety… but how that would actually look I don’t know.

Visions work better when they’re more specific. And one truth is that I’ve been afraid to get too specific for fear I’ll get it wrong.  Hah!

Yesterday, over at I wrote Be Willing To Fail. Maybe I’m taking my own advice, for this morning I was able to do a bit of Visioning for this blog.  Here’s almost my first cut at a Vision statement for this blog:

To provide words that inspire people to change the current cultural dream from one of separateness and individualism to one of inclusiveness and a sense of all is one and real sustainability, complete with resources and a sense of community.

I see this as one way I can contribute to the Vision of Awakening the Dreamer, which is:

To Bring Forth An Environmentally Sustainable, Spiritually Fulfilling, Socially Just Human Presence On This Planet.

I am, of course, not in this alone; none of us are. I’d like to get your feedbackdoes this make sense? How might you change it? How might this work for you?

Love and blessings,

In the Vision Statement, you need an “of” between sense and community, but other than that tiny little detail, I think it is lovely, as are you!
